Adam’s pleased to have been invited recently to serve on the board of Gourma Himi (translates as “Encyclopedia” in Songhai language of northern Mali), a newly activated non-proft organization based out of Georgia which will work to build schools and promote education for underprivileged children in Mali’s Gao region. Founded by University of Georgia Ph.D. candidate and community organizer Ramata Cisse, whose drive, energy, and passion for the development of her native Mali will surely help make lasting positive change, the first goal is to raise money and construct a kindergarten class block for the Chirfey Kalo school. For now, find more info at Gourma Himi and look out for the organization’s activities and fundraising efforts throughout 2011.
