NEW! AUGUST 11, 2008

Lots of exciting news from the home front.. Recent months have seen Adam perform as a showcasing artist at the 2008 Folk Alliance conference in Memphis in late February as well as at various day parties during this year's SXSW in good ole Austin, Tejas. Check out the blog page for some cool stories and details. While you're there, check out the write-up from his recent European tour. In its entirety. Should be a fun read.

So what's the update? "Western Tales & Trails" is finally complete. Jeff Capurso did a sweet job of mastering at Chase Park and the record sounds great! We'll finally have the finished product in hand by August, and you can find the record at all upcoming shows. Definitely didn't make the originally intended timeline, but so it goes. Seems like a really good reason to write a bunch of short, fun songs, get back in the studio, and churn out another one in no time. Thanks to AJ Adams and all the players for lending their talents to the project!

A bit of news: Adam will be traveling to India for the summer, working with American Jewish World Service (www.ajws.org) and their project partner, Ride India (www.rideindia.org) in the southeastern region of Tamil Nadu. Gonna be an exciting trip. This means the official release of Western Tales & Trails will be moved back to the fall. Look out for some shows in New England, NY, etc.. in mid-August, along with official CD release shows in Athens & Atl in September/October.

For those of you who pre-ordered the final product in Europe- the first copies will be coming your way the moment we get 'em back! Check out the myspace page for the most up-to-date info on the August shows up north.

FEBRUARY 5, 2008

Adam will perform at this year's Folk Alliance Conference in Memphis on Feb. 21st. Catch his evening showcase at 6:30pm & private showcases over the course of the weekend. All shows are at the Downtown Marriott. Visit the shows page for details.

Adam's back from a great first tour across the pond. Thanks to everyone for coming out. The house concert in York, set at legendary folk venue Cafe de Amer in Drenthe, Netherlands, and Dublin's Cobblestone were a few of the favorite nights. Check out new pics on the gallery page & more photos and stories from the travels in Adam's blog at www.myspace.com/adamkleinmusic.

You've heard it before, but work is nearing completion for his second album, Western Tales & Trails. Be on the lookout for new songs on the myspace page in the coming weeks, CD release shows info, and shows in the southeast this spring.

DECEMBER 6, 2007

See y'all across the way..

Recent guests include Randall Bramblett playing saxophone and piano, Phillip McArdle on guitar, and Jess Franklin on organ. The project should be completed in time for the UK tour in mid-December. Expect a February/March '08 release on Cowboy Angel Music. Visit Adam's myspace blog for updates.

JULY 26, 2007

Hey y'all. Back in Athens after a run of shows in Baltimore, NYC (Lakeside Lounge & Banjo Jim's), & DC (the ole' standby, Grog & Tankard) and a visit to New Hampshire's beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee. Recording continues and it's sounding fine, songs building slowly but surely. Got some August shows coming up in Athens & Atl, and Shut Eye Records' The United State of Americana compilation, featuring "Restless Soul", will be coming out soon. Have a look at the shows page and gallery for upcoming shows and new pics.

Kind words from Gordon Lamb of Flagpole Magazine—
Travelin’ Angel: Although ostensibly an Athens artist and singer-songwriter, Adam Klein has really become a citizen of the world. Easily the most enthusiastic and well-traveled person I know, he continues to take his music around the nation and garner impressive accolades worldwide. Currently working on his second album, Klein has been joined by A.J. Adams (Blueground Undergrass) on production duties. The list of players is highly impressive, including Carlton Owens (Bloodkin, M Coast, ex-John Mayer) on drums, Raphael McGregor (NationBeat) on guitar and lap steel, Phillip McArdle (Wydelles, ex-Star Room Boys) and Jess Franklin (Tishamingo) on guitar; John Neff (Drive-By Truckers) will add his gorgeous pedal steel sounds, and William Tonks (Barbara Cue, Workhorses Of The Entertainment/Recreational Industry) adds dobro to the mix. As they say, holy Toledo! Klein next plays Athens on Thursday, Aug. 23 at the Caledonia Lounge.

JUNE 4, 2007

Hope late spring's treating everyone well! Recording has begun for Adam's second record! Basic tracking and overdubs will continue in June & July, followed my mixing and mastering. Adam just returned from a quick trip to LA & Joshua Tree, CA, where he opened for the Thriftstore Allstars (featuring Victoria Williams, among others) @ the legendary Pappy & Harriet's Saloon in Pioneertown, CA.
